fun for kids & adults
Clayton is situated in 100 acres of the Eden Valley. and large areas have been left undeveloped to provide recreation areas.
There are woodland and river walks through an area which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There is also plenty to keep the wildlife enthusiast amused with otters, ospreys, swans, ducks, salmon and an array of different birds regularly spotted on the park.
Guests can fish directly from the park itself, with no permit required for most species, making it ideal for casual anglers or families trying fishing for the first time.
With 600 metres of frontage to the River Eden some excellent salmon, trout and sea trout fishing can be enjoyed although you will have to bring your own gear.
For those wanting to explore further, nearby spots like St Andrews Pier and local waters managed by St Andrews Angling Club offer additional opportunities for a wider range of fishing experiences.
